ROCK ISLAND AUCTION, FIREARMS AUCTION, SEPTEMBER 10TH-12THThe "One of One Thousand" Model 1876 Rifle is one of the most desirable of all Winchester firearms, and it will be sold at Rock Island in their upcoming Firearms auction. In excellent condition (95% of the original bluing) and with much important documentation, this landmark rifle is estimated at $300,000-$500,000.

Additionally, Rock Island will be offering the Winchester Model 1873 "One of One Thousand" rifle, also well-preserved and -documented and carrying an estimate of $200,000-$400,000.

Other firearms worthy of special mention in this stellar sale include an engraved, gold-inlaid Winchester Model 70 considered possibly the finest special order factory engraved M70 rifle that Winchester has ever made; a cased, engraved, matched, consecutively serialized Pair of J. Purdey & Sons double barrel shotguns; and a Walther Model 9 semi-automatic pistol attributed to Adolf Hitler.

LANDSHUTER RUSTKAMMER, ANTIQUE ARMS AND ARMOUR, SEPTEMBER 3RD-4THLandshuter Rustkammer, based in Germany, will hold a large auction featuring antique firearms, edged weapons, sporting items, militaria from 1700-1945 including orders and decorations, and ephemera. There are more than 2100 lots in total

Pictured is a suit of black and white Halbernisch armour, circa 1570, which probably belonged to a high officer in Nuremberg. Showing an artistic line pattern and including many fine elements like reconditioned leather trim, it has a starting bid of €7.500,00.

Other interesting lots include an officer's rapier circa 1620, a Luftwaffe uniform, and and a rare cased Iranian Order of the Suns and the Lion.

The sale includes firearms from all periods and geographic regions from cased saw-handled duelers to Greek/Albanian arms to wheellocks and 20th century military and civilian firearms.

SAN GIORGIO, ARMS AND ARMOUR GENOA SEPT 26THSan Giorgio's sale of the 26th includes some fabulously decorative examples of Ottoman arms. A pair of coral encrusted Algerian flintlocks and a silver overlaid Ottoman blunderbuss are two such examples.

Among the rarer European Arms in the sale is the 15th century Cinquedea pictured. Cinquedeas of this quality rarely come to the market. Other European arms in the sale include Russian sabres, French dueling pistols, fine Sardinian daggers and a superb French made kard.

A rare Chinese or Korean generals helmet is another highly decorative lot, as are some of the flags in the sale. Among the arms of american interest is an unusual revolving LeMat carbine.

Early Europeans arms include a large collection of halberds, early rapiers, daggers and a shiavona. Uniform lots include a Russian helmet from the general of the Guards.

CZERNY'S, AUTUMN SALE OF ANTIQUE ARMS, ARMOUR, ANTIQUES, AND MILITARIA, OCTOBER 2ND-3RDCzerny's upcoming two-day auction will, as usual, feature an impressive array of rare and decorative arms and armor from around the world. Focuses for this sale are far eastern weapons and armour, historical European firearms, and fine antique edged weapons.

Items from the orient include interesting khula-khud helmets from 18th and 19th century Indonesia; decorative daggers from Malaysia, Tibet, and Borneo; and a fantastic full set of samurai armour from the early 20th century (detail pictured here), estimated at E7500-10,000.

Antique firearms of special interest include a 15th century French cannon; a Finnish chasseur's percussion carbine from Russia circa 1850; and a rare cased English stamped Colt Model 1862 Police Revolver.

Edged weapons include a number of high officers' sabres from 19th century France; many early European daggers; and decorative halberds from Italy.

Other items include Native American items; crossbows; orders and decorations; African arms; saddles; silver; and much more.

DOROTHEUM, ANTIQUE ARMS, UNIFORMS, AND MILITARIA, SEPTEMBER 9THThis rare set of horse armor, with many parts original to 1530 (opening price of € 5000) is one of many very interesting lots in Dorotheum's next public sale on September 9th.

Other pieces of armor and uniforms worthy of special note include early 20th century Marine helmets, a Renaissance shield, and a German Imperial Navy coat.

Among the many fine edged weapons to be sold are many pole arms, military swords, and a Chinese scimitar; firearms include a variety of wheellock and flintlock pistols from Austria, Germany, and elsewhere.

LOUIS J. DIANNI, MILITARY AND NAVAL HISTORY AUCTION, SEPTEMBER 11TH-12TH

LOUIS J. DIANNI, MILITARY AND NAVAL HISTORY AUCTION, SEPTEMBER 11TH-12THLouis J. Dianni's upcoming sale, to be held at the historic Hotel Thayer in West Point, New York, will feature a wide range of militaria and naval items, including firearms, edged weapons, badges, art, and ephemera.

Firearms in the sale include a Kentucky long rifle from circa 1830; a cased pair of 26 bore Belgian dueling pistols; and this fantastic Snaphaunce pistol from Anghiari, circa 1760, featuring a walnut stock with and relief-carved foliate decorations (est. $5,000.00-$7,500.00).

Edged weapons include a U.S. medical officer's sword from the Indian Wars period; a 1790s court sword, and bronze Luristan dagger from Bronze Age (circa 1000 B.C.) northwest Iran.

Among the other militaria in the sale are several miniatures on ivory depicting military officers; an extremely rare 19th century ivory and bone model of the U.S.S. Lexington; and a framed battle banner of the New York 100th Infantry Regiment Volunteers expected to fetch upwards of $100,000.00.
