VON MORENBERG, ANTIQUE ARMS AND MILITARIA, MARCH 13THVon Morenberg, in Trento, Italy, will be hosting an auction of more than 1800 lots including a fine group of rare and antique firearms and the first installment of an important collection of Italian militaria from the estate of a gentleman from Le Marche.

Also in the sale will be antique edged weapons, weapons from ancient Japan, awards and decorations, and German and Austro-Hungarian military items from the 19th century to World War II.

This circa 1780 military sword from Piedmonte (75cm) is engraved with the motto "VIVE LE ROY DE SARDAIGNE." In very good condition, and with its original leather scabbard, it is expected to bring E8.500-10.000 on the auction block.

POULIN ANTIQUE COMPANY, FIREARMS AUCTION, MARCH 13TH Poulin's next sale will be comprised of a fine, broad selection of antique firearms, including this Colt 1860 Army Revolver manufactured in 1861 and estimated at $1300-$1800. Many other Colts will be on the auction block as well -- 1849, 1851, 1855, 1860, 1862 pocket Navy conversions, 1862 Police, 1851 conversion, 1861 Navy, and more.

There will be a great selection of flintlock and percussion long arms by various manufacturers such as Springfield, Savage, and Remington. Civil War items include carbines by Gwynn & Campbell, Smith, and Sharps.

Additionally, Poulin will offer a quality assortment of sporting rifles, including Winchester M70’s in numerous calibers and configurations such as, pre-64 Featherweights, Varmint, Supergrade, & Supergrade Varmint.

CZERNY'S, FINE ANTIQUES AND ARMOUR, MARCH 21ST

CZERNY'S, FINE ANTIQUES AND ARMOUR, MARCH 21STThis rare suit of studded Chinese armour dating from the late 18th century (est. E14.000-18.000) is one of many scarce and desirable artifacts to be offered at Sarzana, Italy-based Czerny's March 21st auction.

This sale directly follows a sale on the 20th featuring items from the Carlo Garello collection of historical naval treasures including many firearms, swords, and uniforms. Other pieces of armour will include a 16th century mail shirt, a helmet of the guards of King Louis XIII of France, and several fine 18th century kabutos from Japan.

Historical firearms will include early wheellocks and matchlocks, Collete flintlock pistols, and rare American arms by Winchester and Smith & Wesson. On a larger scale, there will be several cannons, including a 1786 model cannon of the Armee Nationale. Swords and other edged weapons -- from medieval knightly swords to 19th century officers' daggers will share the auction block, along with African arms, crossbows, saddles, orders and decorations, important literature, and more.

J. C. DEVINE, FIREARMS, MARCH 7THLeading firearm auctioneers J. C. Devine, Inc. will hold a sale that will -- as usual -- showcase a desirable group of shotguns, rifles, revolvers, edged weapons, ammunition, and miscellany.

This John Armstrong "Golden Age" Flintlock Kentucky Rifle with full length tiger maple stock is the finest of the guns, carrying an estimate of $25,000-$50,000. It is one of Armstrong best pieces, featuring beautiful inlays and engraved elements, all in excellent condition. Other firearms of special note include a Colt Single Action Army Revolver Early Second Generation with more than 99 percent of its case colors, a cased pair of engraved percussion duelers by Lorenz Bossell and a Purdey self-opening side-by-side shotgun with sidelocks and ejectors.

Other items include a fancy map power horn from the Klondike gold rush, a U.S. Model 1832 foot artillery sword by Ames, and a World War II German Naval overseas cap.
